" When Money Fails. "
Today's Reading : Genesis 47:13 -- 16.
Memory Verse : And Joseph said, Give your cattle, and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail. Genesis 47:16.
Message:
And when money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bread: for why should we die in thy presence? for the money faileth. Genesis 47:15.
Once upon a time Joseph was in charge of administration in Egypt. There was a very sore famine in the land of Egypt and all the land of Canaan. All others things can fail, but God can never fail. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever—Hebrews 13:8. Your money can buy you very good medical treatments, but divine and permanent healing comes from God. Exodus 15:26.
Hear how King David prayed to God : Cast me not off in the time of old age, forsake me not when my strength faileth. Psalm 71:9.
It is not wealth, but the drive for wealth, that does not satisfy. Even the rich also have their own set of woes
Wealth attracts dependants and causes restlessness. Ecclesiastes 5:10 -- 12.
Thus wealth is easily lost and is therefore an unsure foundation for life. Ecclesiastes 5:13 17.
May the Lord Almighty, the Most High God, the possessor of heaven and earth, fills us with his divine wisdom to overflow in order to realize that we come from God and we are going back to him, at the end of our transit journey on earth. Amen.
